Random Access Music (RAM) is pleased to announce the 2019 Queens New Music Festival (QNMF). The mission of the festival is to bring new music front and center to Queens and to contribute to the cultural life of the borough. The 8th Annual Queens New Music Festival will take place May 14-19, 2019 at the Secret Theatre – 9 concerts over several days celebrating new music rooted in the contemporary concert music tradition along with convergent musics from the experimental jazz, world, and other musical spheres. The festival will feature proposal winners and invited guests as well as the RAM Players and collaborators.
Above is an excerpt from Ricardo Maria’s composition for String Quartet Fallender Himmel, performed by the Random Access Music String Quartet during a previous Queens New Music Festival: Violin I, Sabina Torosjan; Violin II, Maya Bennardo; Viola, Andy Lin; Cello, Kate Dillingham.
